World Class Ice Carvers Returning to Village At Leesburg for 4th Annual Winter Ice Fest
Saturday, January 14, from 9 am to 5 pm the Village at Leesburg’s 4th Annual Winter Ice Fest will again be highlighted by a spectacular ice carving competition. Free and open to the public, eight world-class ice carvers will showcase the thorough planning and delicate touch that this artistic product demands; the competitors piece together huge installations carved from several different blocks of ice. Four of the top five finishers from last year’s field of ten will be returning, including 2014 winner and 2015 runner-up Todd Dawson. Lisa Herndon from WINC FM will emcee the award ceremony. Winners will be announced and sculptures illuminated at 5 pm.
The Village at Leesburg is located at 1602 Village Market Boulevard Southeast, Leesburg, VA 20175. Village at Leesburg is located just off Route 7 at the Crosstrail Boulevard/River Creek Parkway exit in Leesburg, Va.
From 1 pm to 5 pm visitors can enjoy music, visit with the Washington Capitals mascot Slapshot and the Red Rockers Cheerleaders, and indulge in s’mores from local girl scouts. Village at Leesburg has also commissioned a signature ice sculpture by Baltimore-based Ice Lab Ice Sculptures, which will be set up before 9 am.
